why I create jewelry
I have been creating art since I was young.
Art has always been an avenue for me to express the depths of which words don’t come easily. Studying traditional Metalsmithing at an art school caused me to deepen my expression through wearable art.
As I grew I realized I go into a trance when I create. It became a sacred act and a remembrance of visual communication. Now it is parallel with the healing system I have channeled through Maia.
Where the Maia glyphs speak in symbol and sound, the jewelry speaks through form and beauty.
When I sit down to create, I enter into ceremony.
I don’t design, I listen.
I let the stones, metals, and archetypes tell me what they want to become.
Each necklace, ring, earring, or talisman is a portal of energy, a reminder that adornment has always been spiritual, always magical, always a form of embodied energy.
